The computationally intensive C-Ray multi-threaded benchmark was unchanged by Ubuntu 11.10, even with the newer GCC 4.6 compiler.

The Smallpt path tracing performance also went unchanged in Ubuntu over six months.

There is nothing of interest with 7-Zip either.
