While most laptops will not be used for serving up web pages, when it came to benchmarking Apache the best performance was found with the ThinkPad T61 and its Core 2 Duo T9300 processor. In this test the dual-core Penryn processor clocked at 2.50GHz outperformed the quad-core found in the System76 notebook that was clocked at 2.00GHz.

The Lenovo T61 also outperformed the System76 Bonobo Professional at MP3 encoding using LAME, by quite a significant margin.

Likewise, the T61 had a superior video encoding time.
