Conclusion:

The Atheros WiFi not working "out of the box" with Ubuntu 8.10 is unfortunate along with the hotkeys, multi-touch pad, and initial audio problems, but beyond that this is still a good netbook. The keyboard on the Samsung NC10 is quite large and among the best we have seen for netbook keyboards. The battery life is also phenomenal with the 6-cell battery lasting about six hours or longer with some tweaking. Besides the few Linux problems, the shortcomings with this netbook is no option for having a solid-state drive by default, a small touchpad, and the steps required to swap out the hard drive or wireless adapter. Overall, we are very pleased with this Intel Atom-powered netbook that is well designed, reliable, offers good performance, and can be found through retail channels for about $475 USD.
