The C-Ray ray-tracing performance time was also very close, albeit in Ubuntu's favor.

No major difference between Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and PCLinuxOS with the OpenSSL performance.

Ubuntu 10.04 LTS was incredibly 83% faster than PCLinuxOS 2010 with the local adaptive thresholding (LAT) test in GraphicsMagick. PCLinuxOS 2010 is using the slightly older GCC 4.4.1 release while Ubuntu is using 4.4.3, but these point differences should not account for such a dramatic delta, which makes us wonder if BFS is negatively influencing this OpenMP-powered test.

While only 42% faster at image resizing, GraphicsMagick again is in strong favor of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS over PCLinuxOS 2010.
