The first Nexuiz test run with the DarkPlaces engine show that while Apple has improved their GL stack greatly for Mavericks and supports much of OpenGL 4.1, the open-source Intel Mesa driver with its OpenGL 3.1~3.3 support is more performant. With Mesa 9.2 on the same Apple hardware, the Intel HD 3000 graphics were up to 79% faster on Linux.

Xonotic is also noticeably faster on Ubuntu 13.10 Linux over the current Apple OS X 10.9 Mavericks developer preview.
