These results should not be terribly surprising when considering that OCZ's Serial ATA 3.0 solid-state drive is being compared to three SATA 2.0 SSDs and then one SATA 3.0 HDD. While the OCZ Vertex 3 is obviously the winner, you can at least get an understanding for the shear speed of this new OCZ Vertex 3 SSD on SATA 3.0 compared to older solid-state drives with a number of different Linux workloads.

The Vertex 3 is bloody fast compared to the older Vertex and the other SSDs, or the SATA 3.0 hard drive.
