OCZ's Agility SSDs are supposed to be their mainstream storage offerings, but they have done a mighty fine job with this initial batch of them. In fact, the Agility clearly performed better than and competed with the recently reviewed OCZ Vertex, which is actually part of their performance series. Other tests on the Internet have shown similar figures and others with the Vertex slightly ahead of the Agility, but this is likely due to their (Windows) system configuration, tests that were used, aging of the Vertex that was tested, and firmware differences. Again, all of this disk testing was done with an EXT4 file-system on Ubuntu Linux. This 120GB Solid-State Drive will cost you around $300 USD, but its performance is great, there is support for RAID, 2.5" Serial ATA 2.0 support, there is 64MB of onboard cache, and the name is backed by the very reputable OCZ Technology name. The Agility SSDs are another winner from OCZ Technology that does deserve our Editor's Choice Award.
