For the Lightsmark test, causing the biggest impact on the FPS was not 32x AA when it was in the form of 8x multi-sample anti-aliasing and 24x coverage-sample anti-aliasing, but when super-sampling was used.

With Nexuiz the frame-rates were not as dramatically impacted when testing all anti-aliasing configurations, but again the 4x super-sampling with 4x MSAA was the most taxing.
