The gaming performance between the Linux 2.6.25 and 2.6.28 kernels really hadn't changed with our test hardware and the OpenGL tests used. The open-source graphics drivers, however, are more prone to experiencing performance changes between kernel releases with DRM updates and, for example, the introduction of the GEM memory manager in Linux 2.6.28.
