With Nexuiz, a rather visually intense open-source first person shooter, the frame-rate when using the 3.1 DRM is up by 47%. Quite impressive considering all of the other optimizations that Intel engineers have made in recent months for Sandy Bridge.

The OpenArena frame-rate jumped by 35%, up to 70 FPS, when testing out this very latest Intel DRM code. Fortunately, many of these performance optimizations will be supported by Intel Ivy Bridge when that next-generation hardware launches at year's end.

The World of Padman game also experiences rather impressive improvements with this latest Direct Rendering Manager driver.
