When it came to MP3 encoding with LAME, the best performance was exhibited with the Core i7 920 followed by the Phenom II X3 710 and then the Core i5 750 followed by the Core i7 870 just a second behind that.

Switching over to the FLAC audio encoding performance, the Phenom II X3 710 managed ahead of the Core i7 920 while the Core i7 870 retained its appropriate position of being in front of the Core i5 750.

The best OpenSSL performance was found with the Core i7 870 putting in over 208 signs per second. The Core i7 920 came in second with 190 signs per second followed by the Core i5 750 at 162 signs per second and the Phenom II X3 in last with 147 signs per second.
