Intel Ivy Bridge Linux Virtualization Performance

The main complaint about KVM virtualization for those wishing to use it for desktop virtualization purposes is the lack of 2D/OpenGL/3D/video acceleration for the guest desktop. There is work in this direction with SPICE on KVM/QEMU, but we are still a ways out from seeing it become a reality.
