Intel Celeron N3050 Braswell Linux Performance

This week has been fun testing out the Braswell-powered NUC5CPYH. This NUC features the Celeron N3050 SoC and in this article are some of the first benchmarks of this new Intel design when testing under Linux.

In this article are our first benchmarks of the Celeron N3050 in a hardware comparison against other systems in our lab. In particular, in using a majority of the results from the recent 54-way Intel/AMD Linux comparison of the LinuxBenchmarking.com systems. The results today are primarily looking at the CPU performance while in a follow-up article will be the results for the HD Graphics as well as looking at the performance-per-Watt.

Given the function of our test farm and LinuxBenchmarking.com, not all of the systems were running the same configured software stack but all comes down to being modern Linux distribution configurations and for this basic comparison should be more than sufficient. All of the benchmarks were carried out via the Phoronix Test Suite with the other compared CPUs being the:

The Celeron N3050 NUC was equipped with an 8GB DDR3L-1600MHz stick of memory and ADATA 64GB SP600 SSD. It was running Ubuntu 15.04 x86_64 with the Linux 4.2 kernel Git, Mesa 10.7-dev, and GCC 4.9.2.
