With FFTE, another OpenMP multi-threaded test, PC-BSD and Debian GNU/kFreeBSD both lost out to about the same margin as the Linux variants. Again, all four platforms were using the GCC 4.6 compiler.

For MAFFT, Debian GNU/kFreeBSD lost out big time to the Linux competition.

MrBayes marks yet another loss for Debian GNU/kFreeBSD. This time, however, Debian GNU/Linux did not perform the same as Ubuntu 12.04 LTS but the Wheezy OS was noticeably slower than Precise Pangolin.

In this Linux vs. BSD battle, PC-BSD and Debian GNU/kFreeBSD both lost out to the same margin compared to Ubuntu 12.04 and Debian GNU/Linux running at the same speed for Fhourstones.
