Next up are benchmarks just between CentOS 6.3 and Oracle Solaris Express 11.1 and OpenIndiana 151.1.7.

OpenIndiana was significantly faster than CentOS 6.3 and Solaris Express 11.1 for random writes with the Threaded I/O Tester.

Solaris Express 11.1 meanwhile was the frontrunner for the PostMark mail benchmark.

CentOS 6.3 came out ahead for the FFTE MPI benchmark.

CentOS 6.3 was noticeably faster than Oracle's Solaris for the Botan cryptography benchmarks.
