An Updated Look At Radeon Gallium3D 2D Color Tiling

Both graphics cards were faster with 2D color tiling enabled for the Radeon HD 4890 and Radeon HD 6950 graphics cards. On an unrelated note, one item I have noticed in recent weeks is the performance of the open-source Radeon driver becoming far less stable in terms of performance, as we can be seen by the error bars/indicators on some of the graphs.

The benefits of 2D color tiling are quite noticeable for the modern ATI/AMD Radeon graphics hardware on the open-source stack.
