Open-Source R500 Driver Can Compete With Legacy Catalyst

Getting started with Nexuiz we see the open-source Radeon driver code from this year now competing with the Catalyst driver from four years ago on Ubuntu 8.04.4 LTS. Back then nor now is Nexuiz with these settings playable on the Mobility Radeon X1400 R500-class graphics processor, but the Mesa/Gallium3D performance is finally comparable. For those wondering about any image quality differences, the samples that were automatically taken by the Phoronix Test Suite are embedded below. However, there is not much in the way of differences to the human eye.
