When it came to running Team Fortress 2, it was much easier on the graphics cards with the open-source Radeon Linux driver. While few AMD GPUs on the open-source Linux driver could deliver above a 60 FPS average with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive at 2560 x 1600, it's a very different story with Team Fortress 2. The Radeon HD 5830 and then the HD 6870 and newer GPUs were pushing well above a 60 FPS average. The Radeon R9 290 was the fastest at 2560 x 1600 and the only one delivering above 120 FPS.
