AMD Radeon R9 290 On Ubuntu 14.04 With Catalyst Can Beat Windows 8.1

With the defunct Nexuiz game, Ubuntu 14.04 LTS with Catalyst 14.4 on the Radeon R9 290 was about 17% faster than Windows 8.1 under the same state.

OpenArena was about 12% faster on Ubuntu 14.04 than Windows 8.1 for the Radeon R9 290 Hawaii graphics card.

The Unigine tests were among the OpenGL test cases where they were unstable on Catalyst 14.4 under Windows in our configuration for the Radeon R9 290, but were running flawlessly on Windows with non-Hawaii graphics processors.
