AMD Radeon Performance Preview On Linux 3.8

World of Padman only saw some very minor performance improvements with drm-next for the higher-end Radeon HD 5750 and Radeon HD 6870 graphics cards. The Radeon HD 6570 graphics card locked-up during the testing of Padman on drm-next.

The Reaction Quake 3 performance was similar to World of Padman and this was another game where the Radeon HD 6570 was locking up for drm-next.

With Smokin' Guns is the first game, while still based upon the ioquake3 engine, where the performance is up sharply with drm-next. For some graphics cards, the Smokin' Guns frame-rate went up by ten-fold with the Linux 3.8 DRM.
