Examination:
Glancing over the V-1 Ultra, its design is certainly dissenting from the other coolers presently on the market. The design of the V-1 series consists of a copper base with a set of soldered fins while extruding from the base are three heatpipes. These three heatpipes are designed to loop around the graphics card PCB while on the opposite side are a series of larger fins with an 80mm fan attached. The V-1 Ultra supports up to two 80mm fans.
The total dimensions for the heatsink are 80 x 80 x 28.5 mm, and the weight of the heatsink alone is 310 grams. The fan that ships with the heatsink uses a dual ball bearing design that is capable of pushing 24.84 CFM @ 31.3 dBA. The V-1 Ultra design is very similar to the original V-1, which premiered a few months back, except rather than using two heatpipes this Ultra model utilizes one extra pipe. Examining the base of the V-1 Ultra, it was relatively flat and we had not noticed any apparent manufacturing imperfections. While the base is composed of copper, the surface was nickel-plated.
