With more and more people adding home networks to their house either when they’re renovating or building a new house, it’s important to make sure all of the LAN and telephone jacks are in working order before the walls are dry walled or construction is finalized. Although many homes have turned to wireless networks due to the ease of use, many continue to use the traditional Ethernet network due to price, security, and speed. Rather than spending up to several hundred dollars on a datacom tester, Triplett offers an inexpensive and easy to use device called the Line-Bug 4. The Triplett Line-Bug 4 tests telephone and network lines with RJ-45 and RJ-11 style plugs. In this review, we’ll be trying the Triplett Line-Bug 4 Phone/LAN Tester out for ourselves.
