It is exciting to see many improvements with this release, especially with support for vehicles, new game modes, and the engine improvements that have been mad in recent months. Replacing Nexuiz, Xonotic easily feels like one of the most professional open-source first person shooter (FPS) games. The gameplay is terrific as are their visuals, considering the DarkPlaces engine powers it.
Xonotic 0.5 is available at no cost and official game clients are available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.
