Fedora Logical Volume Manager Benchmarks

EXT4 with the Linux Logical Volume Manager was 26% faster for the 4GB IOzone write test.

Even the read performance was around 10% faster when using EXT4 within an LVM volume.

The only item that comes to mind why EXT4 with the Logical Volume Manager is so much faster over EXT4 without is due to write barriers not being enforced by default with LVM.
