Upcoming Linux Hardware Benchmarks For June

Here's a look at some of the upcoming articles on Phoronix this month, including another large Radeon Linux graphics comparison.

- There's still a few tests from last month to be published (see Upcoming Linux Hardware Tests, Benchmarks from May). Among them is an Intel WiFi adapter review, SilverStone chassis review, Intel Ivy Bridge SNA/UXA/GLAMOR benchmarks, NVIDIA VDPAU, more ARM benchmarks, some Intel Z77 motherboard reviews, and some other random work.

- More Intel Ivy Bridge Linux benchmarks.

- New *BSD benchmarks are forthcoming.

- The latest Radeon Linux graphics comparison is set to be published next week. Using a Radeon HD 3650, HD 3850, HD 4650, HD 4890, HD 5750, HD 5830, HD 6450, HD 6770, HD 6870, and HD 6950 graphics cards there's another interesting Linux comparison. The R300g-based Radeon X1800XL and Radeon X1950PRO were also tossed in for reference with the open-source tests.

With these cards it's a comparison of the Catalyst driver to the stock open-source Radeon Ubuntu 12.04 LTS experience to finally a tweaked Git experience. The tweaked Git experience is running all of the latest components from Git master (Linux kernel, xf86-video-ati, libdrm, and Mesa) while tweaking the stack. Tweaks include enabling PCI Express 2.0, patching and enabling R600 HiZ, 2D color tiling, and the 3.5 Radeon DRM massive gains. Quite the interesting comparison!

- Comparing the performance of Fedora 17 vs. Ubuntu 12.04.

- 12-core 30-Watt Ubuntu Linux cluster benchmarks, plus hopefully benchmarks from a much larger cluster (circa 100 ARM cores).

- R600 Gallium3D LLVM benchmarks.
