COGL 1.11.2 Supports SDL2, Betters GLES 2.0, Fixes Bugs

Posted by Michael Larabel on August 20, 2012

Cogl, the direct-state 3D graphics API spawned out of the Clutter tool-kit project, has seen its first development release for the forthcoming Cogl 1.12. Many changes are introduced in this new development build.

Among the work found in Cogl 1.11.2 since the stable Cogl 1.10 release includes various optimizations, support for the WebOS version of SDL with GLES 1.1/2.0 access, documentation updates, GPU architecture detection capabilities, throttling swaps by default, OpenGL ES 2.0 API integration support so that GLES 2.0 code can run within Cogl-based applications, a libcogl-gles2 sub-library, API improvements, support for SDL 2.0, support for resizable on-screen frame-buffers, and support from cogl.conf/environment-variables for disabling specific OpenGL extensions.

More information on the Cogl 1.11.2 development release is available from the GNOME announce list.
