Linux Kernel Proposal For Dropping Keyboard Support

It seems to be the season for trolling the Linux kernel mailing list with idiotic statements. After it was proposed a few days ago that the Linux kernel drop support for x86 32-bit, today's entertainment comes in the form of a Linux user seeking to have keyboard support as "obsolete input device support" from the Linux kernel tree.

For those desiring a new comical email on the Linux kernel mailing list today, see kruft cutting. Someone named Eric Furrmann is proposing that keyboard support be removed from the mainline Linux kernel. This person's reasoning for dropping support for keyboards come down to claims that the desktop PC is dead, Linux never succeeded on the desktop, etc. "So.... That said. Let's ditch that obsolete input device support!"

Obviously this isn't going to happen anytime soon; now back to the real world.
