Wine 1.5.11 has been released today now that the project's back to their bi-weekly Friday releases. Wine 1.5.11 brings a few interesting changes.
Per the usual information posted to
WineHQ.org, where this latest development snapshot can also be downloaded, the key changes for Wine 1.5.11 include:
- Multi-channel support in the ALSA driver.
- Removal of the big X11 lock.
- Support for pair positioning adjustments in Uniscribe.
- More I/O stream implementations in the C++ runtime.
- Various bug fixes.
The main interesting items here is killing off the big X11 lock for
winex11 and then the multi-channel support within Wine's ALSA driver. While Wine on ALSA is still being worked on, a
Wine PulseAudio driver has yet to be merged.
