With SIGGRAPH just being days away where the next OpenGL and OpenGL ES specifications should be unveiled, the Unigine team is in the midst of travelling from Russia to Los Angeles for this leading event. In preparation, Unigine Corp released a new video this morning showcasing some of the latest features of their flagship Unigine Engine.
Not all of the scenes from this new Unigine Engine are new, but there are some scenes that are being showcased for the first time, including from the yet-to-be-publicly-released Unigine Valley. Other scenes come from OilRush, Heaven, Tropics, etc.
The Unigine Engine is multi-platform, visually-impressive, serves for some great benchmarks, and the developers behind the engine are very friendly towards Linux. For those that somehow never have come across the Unigine Engine before, learn more at Unigine.com.
The only downside is there aren't too many leading games basing their work on the Unigine Engine at this time. There has been Unigine's in-house OilRush RTS game that didn't turn out to be a huge success, Dilogus is still in development, etc.
