As was raised earlier today within the Phoronix Forums
, the Nero CD/DVD burning software for Linux is dead.
Going back a half-decade is when Nero had released Linux CD/DVD burning software
, although it wasn't the greatest closed-source Linux software. Nero's software on Linux never gained much popularity on Linux with GNOME's Brasero, KDE's K3b, and other open-source software working out fine for burning media.
Nero has now confirmed they don't sell any Linux software
any longer. "Currently we do not sell any Nero Linux products any more. Please note that technical support for Nero Linux is no longer available."
It's not too much of a disappointment. Personally, I never even had a need to buy and install any Nero software for Linux with the open-source software that's freely available serving for all burning needs.
