There was lots of chatter at XDC2011 -- both on-topic and off-topic.

Around three-dozen developers showed up in Chicago for this annual X.Org event. Next year the event is likely to take place in Nuremberg or Dublin. In 2013, I am already contemplating a bid for XDS2013 Munich.

Phoronix.com and I sponsored free beers for one day of the event. This was a big hit and enjoyed by most of the developers.

The bartender served a variety of American beers and a few imports. Goose Island's beers were the most popular with the X.Org attendees. The Goose Island beers had to be re-stocked several times during the afternoon. There will be a breakdown on the beer count and selection soon as I receive the bill.

Some developers also had their first encounter with Bud Light. In the above photo is Jesse Barnes of Intel in front and then Egbert Eich and Matt Dew.
