Nexuiz is one of the most demanding and visually intense free software games that's multi-platform. The results here were much different from the two ioquake3-based tests. With this modified DarkPlaces-powered game, the Linux performance was well ahead of the native Windows 7 performance. What was interesting though is that the Wine performance here was right on par with the Windows 7 Professional numbers at all six resolutions tested/ The Windows / Wine performance was about 13% behind the Linux frame-rates.

While not a game but rather an OpenGL tech demo, the Lightsmark 2008 performance was quite interesting as well. The performance of Ubuntu, Wine 1.2.1/1.3.9 under Ubuntu, and Windows 7 x64 were all close to one another.

The Unigine Sanctuary OpenGL performance was the same across all four configurations.
