With all of the FS-Mark tests, the Western Digital VelociRaptor 150GB performance was ahead of the two older Western Digital and Seagate hard drives being benchmarked from the Core i7 4770K system. The VelociRaptor performance fell short though of the 1TB SATA3 Seagate SSHD, which in turn all these rotating disk drives were much slower than the tested Serial ATA 2.0 and 3.0 solid-state drives.

With the Dbench disk benchmark on Ubuntu Linux, the Western Digital VelociRaptor was only marginally faster than the older 7200RPM Seagate HDD with just 16MB cache.
