When it comes to the LAMMPS Molecular Dynamics Simulator, the interesting bit here is that the Exynos 5 hardware -- both the Google Chromebook and Google Nexus 10 -- were performing at nearly the same speed as the original AMD Phenom 9500 "Agena" processor. The dual-core Cortex-A15 at 1.7GHz is running close to the 2.2GHz AMD quad-core processor while at a fraction of the power consumption. The tested Cortex-A9s and Atom 330 meanwhile continued in their slowness.

With SciMark2's Monte Carlo and Sparse Matrix Multiply implementations, the Nexus 10 was close to running at the AMD Phenom 9500 speeds too.
