The boot time for the Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 notebook known as the ThinkPad T61 had regressed more noticeably with this impending Ubuntu release. The boot time goes from 21 seconds in 10.10 to 38 seconds in the 11.04 Beta 2 version. The maximum disk throughput meanwhile had improved from 56 MB/s to 68 MB/s. With the T61 notebook it is also booting up to the classic GNOME desktop rather than Unity since there is NVIDIA Quadro graphics on Nouveau where with Natty there is no out-of-the-box 3D acceleration support.

9.10: 63 seconds / 38 MB/s
10.04: 16 seconds / 56 MB/s
10.10: 21 seconds / 56 MB/s
11.04: 38 seconds / 68 MB/s
