The 4GB read performance with IOzone was similar between Ubuntu and Fedora at 58.13MB/s and 58.85MB/s, respectively.

The EXT4 file-system on Fedora was able to shine with the Flexible IO Tester when using the sample Intel IOMeter File Server Access Pattern. It took Fedora 11 Beta just 75.97 seconds for this test while Ubuntu 9.04 Beta required 94.53 seconds.

Our final test was 7-Zip Compression and here Ubuntu 9.04 Beta did slightly better than Fedora 11 Beta.
