AMD EPYC Performance Over The Past Six Years Of Ubuntu Linux LTS Releases
There was nice evolution to the performance up through Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, but at this stage with the new Ubuntu 22.04, there is far fewer gains to note. Similarly, there weren't any recorded benefits in going from Ubuntu 22.04's stock Linux 5.15 kernel up to the very latest Linux 5.18.
These results aren't entirely surprising considering the age now of the hardware. The AMD Zen 1 compiler support rarely sees changes in recent times and the platform support has been mature for quite a while.
Only in various random benchmarks is there much movement out of Ubuntu 22.04, most tracing back to other general software optimizaitons as opposed to anything specific to Zen 1.
