Power Consumption & Thermal Testing With The Core i9 7900X On Linux
When running Tesseract on these systems with the Radeon RX 480 backed by Mesa 17.2-dev, the Ryzen 7 came out slightly ahead of the Intel CPUs.
The i9-7900X temperatures were low for this open-source game, with it not being a multi-threaded engine.
The average power use in this scenario actually saw the Ryzen 7 1800X and Core i9 7900X about the same.
While on a performance-per-Watt basis, the Core i7 7700K was the winner.
It was a similar outcome too with Xonotic.
