System Setup:

With the AMD Radeon HD 6770 at its heart just being a Radeon HD 5770, there is not much to add about the Linux support. It obviously works with the proprietary Catalyst Linux driver on recent releases and as it is a Juniper part, it should work rather easily on the open-source stack without having to worry about the various Radeon HD 6000 "Northern Islands" GPU bugs.

For this testing we were using a Catalyst 11.7 beta press driver that was marked fglrx 8.87.4 / OpenGL 4.1.10825. The test system was once again the Intel Core i5 2500K setup with the Sapphire Pure Black P67 Hydra motherboard, 4GB of system memory, and 250GB Seagate SATA HDD. Ubuntu 10.10 was used with the Linux 2.6.35 kernel, GNOME 2.32.0 desktop, X.Org Server 1.9.0, GCC 4.4.5, and the EXT4 file-system.

The Sapphire Radeon HD 6770 Linux results were compared to the Radeon HD 4770, HD 5450, HD 5750, HD 5770, HD 5830, HD 6570, and HD 6870 graphics cards under the same hardware/software configuration. Benchmarking was obviously done via the Phoronix Test Suite.
