The Smallpt path-tracing performance is also improved under Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.0, likely due to the better performance out of the default GCC 4.4 compiler.

The 7-Zip performance also improved in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.0.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.0 is significantly beating the competition (even the Linux distributions with GCC 4.4 and EXT4 on Linux 2.6.32 era kernels) with the LZMA compression performance.

There is not too much to draw from the Parallel BZIP2 results.
