Basemark with OpenGL also shows how poorly the proprietary OpenGL driver compares to the current RadeonSI driver.

While the Radeon RX 6600 performance in early October was good and competitive to the relevant NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards, as shown by this newer testing on the same system if using the latest Linux driver stack there is even more performance to enjoy thanks to NGG culling enabled by default and whatever performance issue that previously was in Mesa Git has now been addressed along with other RadeonSI and RADV optimizations. Even using the Linux 5.14 stable and Mesa 21.2 stable components was working well for testing and similar to that of the packaged Linux driver stack.

So if you happen to get your hands on a Radeon RX 6600 graphics card and are debating what versions to pursue or whether it's worthwhile going for the latest "Git" driver bits, hopefully this round of testing proved insightful.
