Here is a look at the AC system power consumption across the many different OpenGL Linux games tested. The Core i9 9900K system led to an average AC power draw of 215 Watts with the RX 5700 installed or 252 Watts with the RX 5700XT. The GeForce RTX 2080 installed meanwhile led to an average power draw of 257 Watts.

Unfortunately I don't have any thermal results to pass along today for this launch-day testing as I didn't receive the AMDGPU hwmon patches for Navi10 to expose this support on Linux until after the testing already began. Likewise, I held off on over-clocking until being able to monitor the GPU temperature and also having Vulkan games for testing.

If looking at the geometric mean for the many OpenGL Linux games tested, the Radeon RX 5700XT came out about 6% faster than the RX Vega 64 or the RX 5700 just under the Vega 64. Under Windows testing, the performance tends to be much better for Navi, so it's likely a case of additional RadeonSI Linux driver optimizations still pending. Additionally, it will be interesting to see how the Vulkan performance is with newer Linux games once that Linux Vulkan driver support is available.
