With the OpenGL Lightsmark test profile, the GeForce GT 220 was again running neck-and-neck with the GeForce 9500GT. The ATI Radeon HD 4650 and Radeon HD 4670 graphics cards were the fastest and ahead of the GeForce 8600GTS.

Turning to the 2D performance by testing out GtkPerf with the GtkDrawingArea - Pixbufs operation, the ATI Radeon graphics cards performed horribly with the Catalyst driver in comparison to the NVIDIA graphics cards with their proprietary drivers. The fastest 2D performance was found with the GeForce 8600GTS while right behind that was the GeForce GT 220.

In our second 2D test, which looks at the X Render performance with image scaling through QGears2, the ATI Radeon graphics cards again fell behind horribly in comparison to the NVIDIA graphics cards that had twice the number of frames per second. The fastest graphics card here was the 8600GTS followed by the 8500GT, 9500GT, and then the GT 220.
