The Radeon HD 7950 was very competitive with the GeForce GTX 680. The Radeon HD 7950 at its reference speeds was at nearly the same performance level as the GTX 680, while overclocking the Radeon HD 7950 to its max led the Southern Islands GPU to take a definite lead. It is a pity that the NVIDIA Fermi/Kepler hardware cannot be overclocked under Linux at this time.
