When running Valve's Counter-Strike: Source at 3840 x 2160, the graphics cards that couldn't deliver at least a 60 FPS average were the GTX 650, GT 740, and GTX 750 Ti. The top-performers for Counter-Strike: Source at 3840 x 2160 were the Radeon HD 7950 and GeForce GTX 780 Ti. The Radeon R9 290 couldn't be tested for the Source Engine games in this round of 4K testing as the games were hanging with just this Hawaii GPU.

With Valve's Portal game, the NVIDIA graphics cards were stronger at 3840 x 2160 than the AMD Radeon hardware. The distant front-runner for the Portal 4K gaming was the GK110-based GeForce GTX 780 Ti and GTX TITAN. The GeForce GTX 750 Ti and HD 7850 should be considered a bare minimum for 4K gaming.
