Linux 2.6.38 To Linux 3.2 Nouveau DRM Benchmarks
The Nouveau Gallium3D driver in Mesa 7.12-devel regresses for Nexuiz that the game completely fails. Nexuiz worked a few weeks ago for this NVIDIA mobile GPU and Mesa, but now it is borked. As a result, nothing to see here for the Linux kernel DRM benchmarks.
Lightsmark was also buggy, but compared to Linux 3.0, the latest 3.2 Git offers up a small performance boost.
When looking at the VDrift OpenGL racing game, the DRM-related performance boosts for the NVIDIA Quadro FX 880M mobile graphics processor come between Linux 2.6.38 and 2.6.39, and then again between Linux 3.0 and Linux 3.1. The Linux 3.2 kernel does not improve the Nouveau performance for this hardware.
