Now onto the results...

Counter-Strike: Source was the first game benchmarked in this binary driver comparison. CS: Source was featured since the game test is often requested by Phoronix readers... Even though the results are generally more CPU limited, as these results also show. The higher-end graphics card are hitting a wall with the Core i7 4770K "Haswell" more than the GPU, but here's the Counter-Stike: Source numbers for those readers who care. In terms of why some other Steam Linux games are not tested, read about running benchmarks on other new Linux games.

Unigine's benchmarks meanwhile do a fantastic job at torturing graphics cards and drivers. When it comes to the Unigine Heaven results, the numbers aren't really surprising. The mid to higher-end NVIDIA graphics cards are slaughtering all of the AMD Radeon GPUs on the Catalyst Linux driver, which is no surprise given the results in the past few months with NVIDIA's Linux driver generally running in the lead.
