Intel Ultrabook Benchmarks On The Linux 3.15 Kernel

Now that things are settling down with Linux 3.15, here's some fresh benchmarks of the Linux 3.15 kernel off an ASUS Zenbook Prime.

Some Linux 3.15 benchmarks to end out April on Phoronix are looking at the Linux 3.13 and 3.14 mainline stable kernels against the Linux 3.15 kernel in its current Git form as of Monday. It's quite straight-forward testing with a variety of benchmarks while in later Phoronix articles will focus in specifically upon the different subsystems like the DRM graphics for Intel/Radeon/Nouveau and the file-systems with F2FS/EXT4/XFS/Btrfs on a variety of system configurations.

This latest Linux kernel benchmarking at Phoronix was done with the ASUS Zenbook Prime (UX32VDA) sporting an Intel Core i7 3517U Ivy Bridge processor with HD Graphics 4000, 4GB of RAM, dual 128GB SSDs, and Intel Centrino 6235 Advanced-N wireless networking.

Ubuntu 14.04 LTS was deployed on the system while using the Ubuntu mainline kernel PPA. All benchmarking was handled via the Phoronix Test Suite software. Besides measuring the raw performance, the Phoronix Test Suite was also tracking power use across the three kernels too.
