Given the selection of hardware used for this open-source Linux graphics comparison, it's not much of a surprise that the Radeon HD 6870 is the fastest of the GPUs tested. The GeForce GTX 760 should be doing really well, but unfortunately due to Nouveau's lack of overclocking it's among the slowest with the other NVIDIA GPUs that even trail behind the Intel HD Graphics 4600 of the Core i7 4770K processor.

The Radeon HD 6950 performance should also be better, but as testing for months have shown the open-source driver support for the Radeon HD 6900 "Cayman" series is not as mature and well optimized as the rest of the Radeon HD 6000 "Northern Islands" graphics cards.

It's important to point out a flaw with the Nouveau driver for Unigine Heaven, which led it to it not being properly rendered for this tech demo, and that's why the GeForce GTX 760 performance looks positive for this demanding OpenGL test case when in fact it's failing. Overall, the Radeon HD 5000/6000 series graphics cards were doing well but it's a pity that the newer GCN hardware was running into issues at this time with Linux 3.15.
