CompileBench hits its performance highs when running on Linux 4.16 and disabling the Spectre V2 and Meltdown mitigation functionality.

The ebizzy benchmark that tries to resemble server workload performance is running slightly lower with Linux 4.16.

The Linux kernel build time fortunately was not impacted on this high-end Intel Xeon Scalable server.

The Hackbench synthetic Linux kernel scheduler benchmark also is running slower with Linux 4.15 and 4.16.
